Tübingen, warum bist du so hügelig?

So on Wednesday we got up early and flew to Stuttgart, for a five-day extended wedding extravaganza in the Schwarzwald. Michael's good friend Philipp was getting married and he planned lots of extra hangout time around the actual ceremony so he could catch up with friends from out of town. It was amazing. It was the first time we had been to a German wedding, and everything was just so wonderful. Everyone was so friendly and hospitable, and we made new friends and got to have a really special wedding experience.  So the whole thing started Wednesday, when the groom-to-be picked us up at the Stuttgart airport (1 hr flight from Berlin) and we went to Tübingen, the university city where the couple lives now. We were here to visit them 2 years ago (see post).  It's culture shock to come from (rather ugly and hodge-podge modern) Berlin to (super scenic and fairy-tale-esque) Tübingen. Everything is so cute you can't get over it. :) And no graffiti, and all the flowers in the flowerboxes... Always great for a visit, but it's SO small, not sure if I would like it long-term. Maybe. It is pretty darn cute. We just walked around a little bit, had some lunch and some ice cream, and then rode deeper into the Black Forest... (continued in next post)

Below is a funny video Philipp showed us, made by some students, "Tübingen, why are you so hilly?" I know Audrey will appreciate it. I think she had to bike up these hills to get to the MPI where she was working when she was here. :)
